Free llms.txt Generator for AI Search

Create a concise llms.txt map for crawlers and tools that choose to use the emerging convention.

Shopify now publishes /agents.md, /llms.txt, and /llms-full.txt automatically for every store, so most merchants do not need a generator, app, proxy, or Worker. Use this tool only when you have a real reason to replace Shopify’s generated discovery content, such as maintaining a curated set of durable public resources. Treat the output as a draft for a Liquid template, not an SEO switch. After publishing, verify each public URL directly and keep Shopify Catalog, your sitemap, and robots controls managed as separate systems.

Frequently asked questions

Does Shopify automatically provide these discovery files?
Yes. Every Shopify store automatically exposes /agents.md, /llms.txt, and /llms-full.txt. Shopify treats /agents.md as the canonical agent-discovery URL, and the three default endpoints currently return the same generated content: store name and URL, sitemap, policies, and discovery endpoints. Most stores need no app, proxy, Worker, or custom template.
When should I customize Shopify’s default files?
Customize only when the generated content misses a stable, important public resource, needs clearer entity boundaries, or does not fit a documented headless or multi-brand discovery requirement. Give the file an owner and review schedule. Do not override Shopify’s maintained default merely to add keywords, make the file longer, or create the appearance of doing AEO.
Will a custom llms.txt guarantee rankings or AI citations?
No. Publishing or customizing any of these files cannot guarantee crawling, parsing, indexing, ranking, citation, recommendation, traffic, or sales. Google says llms.txt is not needed for its AI search features. Treat the file as optional public orientation, keep essential evidence on canonical pages, and measure actual outcomes separately instead of converting file presence into a visibility claim.
How are discovery files different from sitemaps, robots.txt, and Shopify Catalog?
The Markdown discovery files point to useful public store resources. A sitemap lists canonical URLs for discovery. Robots.txt communicates crawl permissions under the Robots Exclusion Protocol. Shopify Catalog is separate and is the authoritative product feed for supported agentic commerce channels. One cannot replace another, and none by itself proves that a product will be displayed, ranked, cited, or purchased.
How do I verify the files after publishing?
Send a public GET request to /agents.md, /llms.txt, and /llms-full.txt while logged out. Confirm each returns 200, readable text or Markdown, no HTML theme shell, CAPTCHA, WAF challenge, or error page, and accurate store, sitemap, policy, and endpoint links. Then verify the intended template fallback. A successful response proves availability only, not downstream use.
